Children and young adults

Children and young people have a special place in Jesus' heart. He doesn't mind if you are struggling at school. He doesn't mind if you don't fit in with everyone else. Jesus embraces young people like water bubbling from a fountain that sparkles and flows forever. In Matthew's gospel, Chapter 18, this is what Jesus says about children (International Children's Bible).

At that time the followers came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Jesus called a little child to him. He stood the child before the followers. Then he said, “I tell you the truth. You must change and become like little children. If you don’t do this, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. The greatest person in the kingdom of heaven is the one who makes himself humble like this child.

Every generation has its own struggles. As a young person in our society today you may find yourself facing anxiety, loneliness, pressure to succeed in education, poor mental health, the negative influence of social media, identity issues, family and friendship concerns, as well as having understandable worries about the environment. You may also be like many other young people without someone to talk to about how they feel or someone to help them explore ideas about faith and spirituality.
